A peek into my scrappy life.

Typewriter Canvas

Today I am sharing a 6×6 canvas I created using the Tim Holtz typewriter blueprint stamp.

I created a bunch of stuff using this awesome stamp, which you can check out over at The Paperie blog today!

Step one was to cover the canvas with pieces of patter paper using matte gel medium.

I wanted to use modeling paste to create texture and dimension in the background, which meant I would not be able to stamp the image directly onto the canvas and still get those great blueprint markings. So instead, I stamped the image on tissue paper and adhered it to the canvas over the background using matte gel medium. The gel medium made the tissue paper ‘disappear’ leaving only the stamped image visible. Next, I stamped the image on a piece of pattern paper cardstock and fussy cut  just the typewriter. I layered that right over the tissue paper image, again using gel medium.

Finally I finished it off with the sentiment. I used wood veneer letters that I colored black using my Faber-Castell Big Brush Pen.

  1. it’s really lovely. I want to carve my own typewriter stamp, but I am still debating whether or not it’ll be too fiddly….
