Sit, Scrap, and Relax!

A peek into my scrappy life.

Today I am sharing a layout I did recently to play along with C.S.I. Case File No. 190.

This was a fun one! I used my favourite splotchy watercolour technique, with the green and teal and added random stamping for texture. So simple (maybe that’s why it’s my favourite background technique)!

Last weekend I had a wonderful time with wonderful friends at the Fall Paperie Retreat. Not only was it great for relaxing and spending time with friends, but it was also great for rekindling my scrapbooking mojo. Today I am sharing one of the layouts I had fun creating there.

I used the October challenge at Words & Paintery as inspiration for this one.

Believe All Things Are Possible

Today I am excited to share my latest layout, that I created to play along with the November challenge over at 13 Arts.

Their mood board is just beautiful and I found it very inspiring. I knew I wanted to use a black background. Then I decided to try to mimic the look of the sky in the second picture, and use the word ‘believe’.

Honestly, it was so fun to make and I love the result, so, win, win!

Good morning! It’s been a while since I have blogged a layout. Truth be told, I’ve been feeling short on creative mojo. But I think (fingers crossed) I’m starting to get out of the slump!

Today I am playing along with the October Week 2 sketch from Let’s Get Sketchy, and Case File #170 over at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration.

I just love the colour of the water in this candid shot from our recent trip to the Bahamas. It really makes me want to go back! I used turquoise Dylusions to create the background colour behind the photo and mimic the water- I love the way it turned out.

Backyard Camping

I have been away on vacation for the past little while and that was great… but getting back to my scraproom last night and being creative felt really great too!

I am playing along with the Words & Paintery August challenge, and the Let’s Get Sketchy September Week 1 sketch.

The greens came out a bit brighter then anticipated but I love the result.

Today I am playing along with 13Arts August challenge, which is to use geometric shapes and pastel colours.

I cut a bunch of tiny squares and rectangles and glued them down. I painted over them with gesso, and then I used watercolour pencil to add the soft purple colour. I topped it off with some square chipboard shapes that I’ve had for forever, to add a bit of texture and dimension. The title is a chipboard piece from Creative Embellishments. Fun process with a fun result!
