Epic

Good morning! It’s been a while since I have blogged a layout. Truth be told, I’ve been feeling short on creative mojo. But I think (fingers crossed) I’m starting to get out of the slump!

Today I am playing along with the October Week 2 sketch from Let’s Get Sketchy, and Case File #170 over at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration.

I just love the colour of the water in this candid shot from our recent trip to the Bahamas. It really makes me want to go back! I used turquoise Dylusions to create the background colour behind the photo and mimic the water- I love the way it turned out.

CSI Case File #171

Case File #171 is open for investigation! The colour combination on this one is soft and sweet!

Here is my layout. My daughter loves this one, because she loves pink!

My “evidence” is chevron, banners, cork and artisan shape. My testimony is that the journaling is written on an artisan shape.

CSI Case File #170

Here is the second case file for July over at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration. The colours in this one are a bright and fun combination, perfect for summer!

I kept my layout pretty simple, with a few fun layers. (Because sometimes less is more, right?!)

For the evidence I used stripes, triangles and stars. For the testimony I used a summer ritual for my topic.

CSI: Color, Stores, Inspiration has some great sponsors this month, so head on over to check it out!

CSI Case File No. 169

I was asked to be a “Special Investigator” (aka guest designer) for the July challenges over at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration!

First up is Case File No. 169.

For the challenge you must use pieces of “Evidence”, and choose a “Testimony”, while using all of the colours or “The Scheme”, and the sketch.  Here is my layout.

I used Dylusions Spray Ink for the background colour. Since I knew I wanted to drip the colour, I first coated the background paper with clear gesso.

Today I am playing along with CSI: Case File No. 165. I love their challenges!

I am also playing along with a challenge at Berry71bleu, for the first time. Their June challenge is to use lots of stamping, so I used random background stamping, and stamped my title and journaling. I also stamped the light bulb, the little triangles and the round ‘Love it’.

And finally, I managed to fit in all the requirements for the current challenge over at Scrap Our Stash. The challenge was to use things from your stash for each letter in the word BRADS. I used B-buttons, black ink, R- Ranger Distress Ink, A- American Crafts paper, D- die cuts, S- stamps.
