Lazy Hazy Days of Summer

Oh how I long for summer! Well, I have a while to wait for the hot summer sun, so all I can do for now is scrap about it… sigh.

Creative Scrappers posted 12 great sketches in celebration of their 6th birthday. I chose this one to work with.

I changed it up a little bit because of the size of photo I wanted to use.

My beach selfie came out a bit hazy, so I decided to make it the theme of the layout and play it up in the title- sneaky eh?! LOL

The pattern papers are My Mind’s Eye, American Crafts, and Authentique. The vellum sheet is Studio Calico.

La La Love You

Today I want to share a layout inspired by the March mood board over at Life.Paper.Scrapbook.

marchmood board

My inspiration came from the typewriter image, the shades of green, and the heart shapes on the four leaf clover.

I also used this great sketch from Let’s Get Sketchy. I recently discovered that blog and will definitely be visiting often! They have a new sketch every week.

Supplies: Studio Calico (paper, wood veneer) Allison Kreft (paper), Tim Holtz (letter stickers, tissue tape), October Afternoon (stamp), Jillibean Soup (word sticker)

I created the heart/circle diecuts with the Cricut Craftroom by fusing a simple cricle and heart together, and then fusing a bunch of them in a line. I cut them in white paper but ended up painting them green with watercolor paint.

Kinderstart Excitment

The other day, my daughter went to her third of five Kinderstart sessions. She is just loving the experience, as you can see from the look on her face in this photo! I love it so much, I couldn’t wait to print and scrapbook it!

Kinderstart Excitment by Karen Young

The pattern paper and diecuts are from Simple Stories.

The layout it based on this sketch from Life.Paper.Scrapbook.

It like the simplicity of this sketch. I actually did another layout based on it.

This one is more grungy, and more masculine, for obvious reasons. The pattern papers are Studio Calico.

I had a lot of fun using watercolours for the background. It came out nice on the watercolour paper. The pattern papers are BoBunny and Studio Calico. The sticker diecuts are Allision Kreft.

Valentine’s Day

So yesterday was Valentine’s Day! I love Valentine’s Day- any excuse to exchange cute cards and presents is ok in my book! LOL! Well it ended up being kind of a stormy day, so I ended up spending the day inside with my two sweeties, which was nice. I even got a chance to scrapbook- IN THE DAYTIME- what?! It was fun.

Hubby took pictures of me and L. Of course we dressed in pink for Valentine’s…I printed them with my Canon Selphy, and this layout was born!

I used the February kit from The Paperie, which I love!  And I used this sketch from Life.Paper.Scrapbook.

Sketch Challenge

Today I am sharing my take on this sketch challenge posted by Life.Paper.Scrapbook.

I cut all the diamonds out of the cardstock paper using my Cricut and the Cricut Craft Room. Then I added the pattern papers behind the cardstock. Next I added three of the diamonds on top as well to add dimension and topped it off with faux stitching. It was a fun sketch to work with- so many possibilities!

I used Studio Calico pattern paper and wood veneer, Glitz Design sticker letters, and Thickers.

Wagon Ride

Today I’m sharing a simple scrapbook layout that I just completed.

One of my favourite colours, (ok, maybe my absolute favourite colour), is teal! So when I came across this colour combination, I couldn’t wait to give it a try on a layout.

The papers are American Crafts (Lucky Charm, Noteworthy, Lucky You). I also used MME stamp, Hot off The Press stamp, October Afternoon alpha stickers and Studio Calico cork stickers. The mist is Heidi Swapp Color Shine (teal).
