Sit, Scrap, and Relax!

A peek into my scrappy life.

Last weekend I had a wonderful time with wonderful friends at the Fall Paperie Retreat. Not only was it great for relaxing and spending time with friends, but it was also great for rekindling my scrapbooking mojo. Today I am sharing one of the layouts I had fun creating there.

I used the October challenge at Words & Paintery as inspiration for this one.

Backyard Camping

I have been away on vacation for the past little while and that was great… but getting back to my scraproom last night and being creative felt really great too!

I am playing along with the Words & Paintery August challenge, and the Let’s Get Sketchy September Week 1 sketch.

The greens came out a bit brighter then anticipated but I love the result.

Today is…

Today I am sharing a layout with a fun watercolour background.

The triangles are done with heavy gesso through a stencil. Once dry, I used watercolour pencils to add colour and some stamping to add texture.  I added more watercolour around the triangles and I just love the effect! I think I’m going to have to try that again with a different stencil for sure.

I am playing along with the 13 Arts Challenge #30- “Let’s Take a Selfie”. The selfie is of me and my daughter last week on a little outing to see some ducks at the pond.

I am playing along with the Words & Paintery May challenge, to use lilacs and pinks. Not a colour combo I use often, but it definitely worked with my photo!

And finally, I am playing along with Frosted Designs “All About Mom” challenge, as this layout showcases my relationship with my daughter.

Today I am playing along with the April challenge over at Words & Paintery.

My background is a simple watercolour using Distress inks, on watercolour paper. The awesome chipboard feather is from Creative Embellishments. I gave it a little sparkle using Wink of Stella.

This layout is special to me. I couldn’t resist the cute photo op of my sweet pouch snoozing with her nose on the floor. But sadly it is the last time I got to take her picture, as she passed away recently. We adopted her at the SPCA nine years ago and gave her a good life for her remaining years. She was such a good dog and I feel blessed to have had her until her ripe old age. I miss her so much.

Time Together

Good day! I’m sharing a layout today, inspired by a challenge from the Words & Paintery blog. It’s a blog I recently discovered that was created as an inspiration source for mixed media scrapbooking! Awesome!

And that’s it! A fun mix of modeling paste, heavy gesso, and various spray inks. Fun, fun, fun!
